DAY 01: DELHI
Upon arrival at Delhi airport, meet our representative at arrival hall and transfer to hotel. In the morning go for the city tour of Old Delhi. Visit Jama Masjid, built from red sandstone and white marble, the edifice dominates the skyline of the busy Bazar in central Delhi and is the largest mosque in India. Enjoy a rickshaw ride through Chandni Chowk. This market has been around for more than three centuries. You may buy curios and souvenirs from here. Then visit Red Fort, it is a massive red sandstone fort and is proof of the glory of the flourishing Mughal Empire in Delhi. Proceed to visit Raj ghat; it is the memorial of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation. A black stone platform in an open air complex marks the spot where Gandhi was cremated. In the afternoon visit President House, Parliament, Qutab Minar, a seventy three meters high tower made of red sandstone and marble is not only the highest brick minaret in the world but also one of the most famous historical landmarks of India. Visit India Gate, Birla Temple and Humayuns Tomb. Return and overnight stay at hotel.
DAY 02 : DELHI- SHIMLA (340 KM, 7 HOURS)
In the morning proceed to Shimla, situated at a height of 2200 meters; Shimla is one of the most famous hill station. Set amidst beautiful hills and mystical woods, it is one of most aesthetically planned cities in India. Upon arrival at Shimla, check in at hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight stay.
DAY 03 : SHIMLA
After having breakfast, proceed to kufri, it is a tiny hill station, 13 km from Shimla. You can enjoy the panoramic view of surrounding verdant valleys and snow-capped peaks. There are a number of picnic spots, hiking and trekking trails in and around Kufri. Later take a walking tour of Shimla, the town is nestled among the snow- clad ranges of Himalayas. Visit Jakhoo hills, it offers the visitors a panoramic view of the Shimla city and its surroundings such as valleys and the snow peaks. Return and overnight stay at hotel.
DAY 04 : SHIMLA – SARAHAN (180 KM, 7 HOURS)
In the morning, leave for Sarahan, it’s a beautiful place with nice landscapes. You can have the sight of snow-capped mountains, even in the summer. The fields and orchards are spread all around. There is a variety of wild flowers and rare medicinal herbs. Deep down the valley, flows the river Sutlej. Drive via Narkanda and Rampur to reach Sarahan which commands a view of Srikhan Mahadev Peak. Here, you will find a mixture of Hindu and Buddhist architecture. Visit ancient temple of Bhimakali which is around 800 years old and is dedicated to Goddess Durga. It is one of the 51 shakti peeths. Overnight stay at hotel.
DAY 05 : SARAHAN – SANGLA (75 KM, 3 HOURS)
In the morning leave for Sangla, the attraction of Sangla lies in the Valley of Baspa River down below. Sangla Valley is very beautiful, rimmed by snow-capped peaks. The forested slopes below the snow are a mix between big green pines and autumn-shaded leafy trees. Drive via Karchham towards Sangla, rocky terrain makes the drive to Sangla like an adventure in itself with gorgeous apple orchards and ‘hanging’ villages on the other side of the gorge, built on a slope with the houses rising one above the other with Gigantic Kinner Kailash peak dominating the scene. Arrival at Sangla and overnight stay in camp.
DAY 06: SANGLA – KALPA (50 KM, 2 HOURS)
In the morning leave for Kalpa (2759 meters). Kalpa is the main village of Kinnaur, in the Sutlej River Valley and is known for its many beautiful temples and monasteries; this town is also famed for its apple orchards. The majestic Kinnaur-Kailash range peeking from across the Sutlej River makes for a blissful break. There is an impressive view of Raldang Kailash massif across the Sutlej river in front of Kalpa. Overnight stay in camp.
DAY 07 : KALPA – TABO (150 KM, 6 HOURS )
In the morning departure for Tabo, it is located at a height of 3050 meters in the magnificently isolated Spiti valley in Himachal Pradesh. Tabo is often called ‘The Ajanta of the Himalayas’ with magnificent murals and stucco images. The monastery have has clay sculptures of Buddha painted in the Kashmiri style. Overnight stay in camp.
DAY 08 : TABO – KAZA (50 KM, 2 HOURS)
In the morning leave for Kaza and en route visit Dankar Gompa, it offers panoramic view of the Spiti valley and the beautiful sight at the confluence of Spiti and Pin Rivers. The barren yet beautiful view of clusters of villages, rugged peaks and the blue skies is heart-stirring. The noteworthy delight of the Dhankar Monastery is the statue of Vairochana or Meditating Buddha’s idol forms. In the afternoon visit Ki Monastery which is the oldest and biggest Monastery in Spiti. It serves as a religious training centre for Lamas (Monks). Ki Gompa is a home to around 300 lamas who receive their religious education here and it is also famous for its murals and books. Overnight stay at hotel.
DAY 09 : KAZA – KEYLONG (185 KM, 7 HOURS)
After having breakfast, we will commence our expedition and drive towards Keylong. After covering a few kilometers, we will start driving upward towards the Kunzumla Pass. It stands at an elevation of 4,590 meters, a high mountain pass situated on the eastern Kunzum Range. The pass connects the Kullu and Lahaul Valley with the Spiti Valley. From valley top, we get a stunning view of the Chandra Bhaga ranges that envelopes it on the north sides with snow clapped peaks. On the way, we will halt at Koksar for the registration of the passports. Later, after driving for a few kilometers we will reach Keylong, this is the district head quarters of Lahaul and Spiti. Valley, river, mountains and green landscape makes Keylong picturesque destination. Arrive at Keylong for overnight stay.
DAY 10 : KEYLONG- MANALI (115 KM, 5 HOURS)
After having breakfast proceed to Manali, en route visit Rohtang pass (3978 meters). The pass is an experience of nature in one of its rawest forms possible, amongst mountain peaks covered with snow, breathtaking views and magnificent and sprawling landscapes. Another 51 Km drive from here will take you to Manali, a stunning hill station surrounded by massive snow clad mountains and thick pinewood forests. It has the twisty Beas River as its magnificent centerpiece. Reach Manali and overnight stay at hotel.
DAY 11 : MANALI
In the morning visit Manali, sitting in the lap of lofty mountains, it is a paradise for nature lovers and peace seekers. This picturesque hill station is located at a height of around 2000 meters. It is known for its gushing rivers, soaring mountains, breathtakingly beautiful landscape created by deep gorges and lush valleys. Visit Hadimba Temple surrounded by gorgeous cedar forests; this beautiful shrine is built on a rock. The construction style of the temple is entirely different from that of any of the other temples, with its wooden doorways, walls, and cone-shaped roof. This temple is a fitting dedication to its presiding deity Hadimba. Also visit Naggar (1760 meters), here you will find a unique mansion made of wood and stone, which also houses a historic temple and an art museum. Return and overnight stay at hotel.
DAY 12: MANALI – DELHI (50 KM, 2HOURS + BY FLIGHT – 1 ½ HOURS)
In the morning transfer to Bhuntar airport to board a flight to Delhi. Arrive in Delhi and transfer to hotel. The rest of the day is free for shopping and other independent activities. Overnight stay at hotel.
DAY 13: DELHI
Morning transfer to airport to catch flight for onward destination.
